Dunster Castle

The weather at home was a bit meh, but Janet scoured the local forecasts for a considerable radius and decided we were off to Porlock! And she was right (of course); the day was beautifully bright. Frightfully cold and windy, mind... But we had dressed for that, and sandwiches behind a groin groyne on the pebble beach at Porlock Wier made for an excellent Sunday lunch alternative.

On the way down the A39 we stopped for a shot of Dunster Castle, which looked fab in the low late autumn sunlight (yes, it's meteorological winter now, but it still feels too early for all that snowy nonsense).  And on the way back we nipped into Selworthy Village; a lovely thatched village owned by the National Trust.

Don't ask Janet about the cows in the woods... we found a handful of them on a narrow bridleway climbing up through Dunkerry Wood and decided to turn around, only to find we were being followed by more of the same. Janet likes cows... mostly with horseradish and onion gravy; not so much on the hoof!
