The reticent angel
The youngest has chosen to be an angel in the nativity play at school. He is beyond less than impressed with his costume and you could see the reality dawning that he was going to have to wear tinsel (he was quite happy to wrap it around his bed frame to make it look pretty though, he's not completely against it!) It might be a little better when he sees his friends also having to wear similar outfits and I'm pretty sure he will ask to be a shepherd next year (as his brother is this year). I'm slightly prouder of the 'creation' - 45 minutes, some pipe-cleaners (for the halo) and a pillow case - complete with bias binding on the neck (used because I wanted the practice).
A very quiet day. The eldest has had endless colds of late, he seems to have gone from one to another for weeks. So we called off rugby and had a day at home for the boys- everyone happy. I was dispatched on a Christmas Jumper shop, I went to four shops, couldn't find anything but did get some stocking fillers for the boys.
Today I'm grateful for:
The eldest feeling a little better - and sleeping about an hour later than normal
Lovely family day at home
The husband replacing our thermostats this weekend, the old ones have been a bit dodgy and he's done a great job
