Lots of Nutcrackers for me today!

When I went into Kingston early this morning I spotted a very large nutcracker model ( about 20ft tall) near the war memorial.  This afternoon I went up to Covent Garden and the blip is outside the back entrance of the Royal Opera House as the.  Nutcracker  Ballet is on at the moment.
In fact that is why I was there…lots more nutcracker decorations in the foyer area and nutcracker decorations on the Christmas trees. The whole Covent Garden area was very busy so it will be even more so at the weekend and leading up to Christmas. Too crowded for me to go again. We had a quick lunch in Wahacca, nice food but the service was very slow as it was also very busy.

The extra is of the inside of the ROH from our seats..high up as I had only bought cheap seats when I booked in August in case there were Covid  restrictions or we didn’t fancy going. However the Tchaikovsky music is the same and lovely wherever you are sitting and by leaning forward, we were in the front row, you can see OK…good value anyway. It was a lovely performance and so nice to see the traditional version. It will be streaming in cinemas in the next few days.
However this is the first live performance I have been to where I had to wear a mask the whole time and I did not enjoy that aspect at all.
