Above us only sky
I do the occasional voluntary driving for a local neighbourhood care charity and this morning I took an elderly lady to St Peter’s Hospital, Chertsey, for an ENT appointment I went for a walk whilst she was in the clinic and found these light boxes fitted to a corridor ceiling. There were a number of them at intervals along the corridor, all looking up to a blue sky through the branches of a tree. This corridor leads from the operating theatres to the surgical ward and it must be very calming for patients on the way to theatre, or on their way back to the ward, to see blue sky above them. A nice, thoughtful example of the healing power of art
