Diary of an Edinburgher

Busy day

A busy day, with visitors (four legged and two legged) coming and going all day.

I popped round to pick up Pip for the day, as his mum had a work deadline she had to meet. In fact, she had to meet it yesterday, but wasn’t feeling too well, so got an extension.

Archie went off for the morning with Robert who got a surprise when TWO crazed schnauzers came running out to meet him by the gate.

Pip is much more chilled around the house than Archie. When our two visitors came later (separately), there was NO barking, and that was really nice. The first Christmas mince pies of the season were enjoyed, and Robert joined us when he and Archie came home. I even had some quiet, old, traditional Christmas music on very very quietly.

Once they’d all departed, I took the two dogs up to the graveyard. Actually, it was quite embarrassing walking along with these two schnauzers (apart from them tying me in knots with crossed leads all the time) because Pip has been clipped recently, and looks very smart. Archie has not been clipped recently, and so he looks like a small sheep. Soon, Archie. Very soon…

Another visitor popped in, to arrange a soirée, but Our Dear Leader (not Boris) has just announced some stricter rules ‘guidance’ re gatherings in homes over the Festive Season, so we may need to re-think.

Check out Archie’s dreamy look when Robert was scritching in just the right spot.
