The Whole of the Moon

Not the best of photos, but I only had an iPhone to hand when I looked out of the bedroom window and saw this full moon hanging over Shap Fell, beautifully lit up by the setting Sun. It was actually a lot brighter and whiter than the photo would suggest - I’m guessing the limitations of the camera, combined with the glow cast by the sun, has resulted in the yellow tint.
It’s been a typical winter’s day today, clear and bright, but very cold. I suspect - given the clear skies - that it may well freeze tonight. Definitely need to make sure the water in the garage is turned off this evening after the washing machine has finished.
It’s been very nice today not having to plan everything around a rehearsal or a night out. A bit of a lie-in this morning and then a very leisured day, with only a short visit to the gym to interrupt a regime of telly watching and napping! Got to make the most of it though as we’re back to Panto rehearsal tomorrow, then it’s three days away in Chester before coming back in time for the next rehearsal. There’s even a band practice pencilled in for Christmas Eve! Whether or not any of these planned performances will go ahead is definitely up in the air now. There is a growing clamour for more restrictions, amidst dire predictions of the NHS being overwhelmed soon, and I can’t see any options open to the government other than a full lockdown for a month or so to buy time whilst more boosters are administered. I hope I’m wrong but, thinking back to last Christmas, I’m definitely getting a sense of deja-vu. Having said that, Christmas Day is only a week away and I don’t see Boris being brave enough at this moment in time to order us all to stay at home - mainly because most people would just disobey anyway!
