In the middle of the pic is center of Tampere cityband the rear lights of the rushed cars on Ratinansilta bridge.
This is new kind of traffic jam. It is the filling line of the new Nokia Arena that has risen to the center. There was today a corona centrifuge-ice-hockey game called Tappara-Kalpa starting at 6.30pm. As we have quite a good public transportation with the new tram from south suburban, it was planned that audiences (fully booked 13.000 people) would use that instead of their own cars. The arena has not any parking lot of it's own, all the cars should have room in other parking carages.
It seems to me, that not everyone arrived at the tram yet (time stamp of the pic at 5.35pm as I was waiting hubby at Hatanpää hospital parking lot across the bay).
I figure that if you get to the city center by car in the future in any matter, you should learn how to check the schedule of events of Arena, or if necessary, plan not to use the streets leading to arena. Or take twenty minutes more time to cope a possible rush.
The rush was quite a slow at five pm. Luckily, we had some extra time driving to Covid vaccination to Hatanpää hospital - and we got there in time and hubby had his third jab. He was one of the last customers today and nurses had few left over jabs there. So one of the nurses came out to the freezing weather and asked all of people from the parking lot, if they'd like the jab.
Well, we all did - and now also I have had my third jab!!!
Jee!
-10c with strong wind. Felt quite cold. I had some 6km walk early in the afternoon. Trying to give my knees possibilities to adapt to the new personally formed insoles.
