Early Retiral

My friend Mary retired from the Civil Service today after 42 years unbroken service. She threw a party to celebrate and invited everyone who she has known in her working life, as a dance teacher or friends since her teens, as well as family members.

She asked some of her dance school pupils to perform for the company, mainly to show her work colleagues what she did in her spare time. The girls did tap, song and dance, the highland fling and the hornpipe, much to the delight of everyone.

The girls stayed on and were first on the dance floor when the disco started. Here they are with their dance teacher doing the macarena!

As Mary and I have been friends since we were about 14/15 I met lots of people I hadn't seen in a long time. Great!

A lovely evening which everyone enjoyed.
