The Birds are Back!

The birds are back in town!!  We have noticed quite a few more birds around over the past few days and we think it may be because it’s been a bit hotter and the rains have generally stayed away.  We did have quite a downpour this afternoon but it was fairly brief.  I nearly jumped out of my skin when a thunderclap boomed right overhead during the storm.  When we checked the lightening app it had struck just 90 metres from the house on the eastern side.  I took this image quite early this morning.  Mauzee had spotted the two Grey Currawongs sitting in the Scribbly Gum and they were obliging enough to hang around while I fired up the Sony RX10.  The Grey Currawongs are foragers and we often see them scrabbling around in the undergrowth.  I’m sure that’s what they use those incredibly impressive beaks for.  It’s so good to see more bird life.  Since the fires there has been a definite decline in the numbers, so fingers crossed the population is building once again.
