The end of Christmas.

It all went pretty well considering.   We saw all the family we were hoping to see (one more brother coming down on Sunday)  and didn’t catch Covid.  So although it’s a low bar we aced it.

Quiet final day.  I pottered in the garden seeing what is starting to come up and finally managing to plant out a couple of shrubs, including a hamamelis that made me think of N’s mother Josie who had a beautiful one.  Walked after lunch and then came home to dismantle the Christmas tree.  It’s poignant to see all the baubles on the table with all their magic gone but that is the lot of the Christmas tree bauble.

Rang H who said ‘I’ve gone back to work, this Christmas business is going on far too long’.

Tomorrow.
