low tide

The last time we were here, we had to dodge the incoming tide. This time, we planned our visit to Brow Well perfectly, arriving at low tide and spending a couple of hours walking along the beach without having to worry about getting wet feet. Fiona had on a new pair of wellies as an extra precaution :-)

Jess and Archie had a fine time running about, in and out of the water. They were hungry by the time Fiona and I stopped for a hot drink at the driftwood log, so they had their own treats and then went off to play again. Archie found the old tennis ball which he'd left behind on his last visit. By the time we reached the cars, the tide was rapidly rising and most of the channel between the merse and Criffel had been covered by the water.

The extra shows Criffel with a dusting of snow and a flock of barnacle geese flying overhead. Sadly there are many barnacles (and other birds) dying from Avian 'flu.
