Still Life with Satsumas and Ailing Cyclamen

Oranges of all varieties feature largely in my winter diet. It seems my body craves vitamin C at this time of year, hence my blip.

So far the centre of Edinburgh has escaped the snow which seems to have covered a lot of Scotland. My Elgin family spent the morning skiing while some of the pedestrians on the Mound here had only the railings to clutch as they slithered down towards Princes Street on an unsalted icy pavement.

For various reasons the dook in the sea with LeeAnne was cancelled this morning, but she popped in during the afternoon on her way home from work and we agreed that it would have been an extremely cold trip to the beach- much better to be drinking coffee and eating cake indoors.
