Early morning annual visit to the dentist for free cleaning & check up. Doc has said that although no urgent work needed, there are a couple of fillings that need to be replaced, and I need to have a very unpleasant deep clean peridontal treatment. As the treatment would mean being heavily injected, it makes sense to do all the work at the same time.

So ordered back next week to do the proper peridontal 'measurements' & complete the application to the health body to get it all done under the German NHS for free. If one has been 'good' and had one's annual inspections, the cost is almost always 100% free. I have been 'good' - like all Germans, I have a Dentist passport which is stamped every time you have a check-up and clean.

The statute is in the waiting area - the dentist's family, notably the now retired father, are collectors of local art & I suspect this example is one done by a local artist Diether Kunerth - there is a museum in Ottobeuren dedicated to his and other modern artists.

Quickly popped into the large national chain supermarket, REWE, and happened to notice the Union Jack being touted in a small "Speciality" cool chest with different chesses. Not sure the Union Jack is anymore a good selling marketing toll, especially since the makers have all had to register companies in Republic of Ireland so as to sell their products in the EU. - See extra photos
