Banff with elk

Most mornings I wake up early and go out for a walk before breakfast. It's usually then that I see the most birds and animals. This morning I was very pleased to see a three-toed woodpecker and on my way back took this shot of the early morning traffic in Banff, with the jagged peak of Mt Rundle above.

It was only when I went through the pictures this evening that I realised there was an elk grazing on the far side of the crosswalk.
