Lunch
What a lovely day it's been. Beautiful Autumn weather, certainly warm, - although it's been hot, there's a certain touch of something. Maybe it's just the sun setting earlier, or the cooler nights. But 29 degrees in Autumn seems cooler than 29 degrees in summer.
Today, it's been great. Quite by accident when I was trawling the web a couple of nights ago, I discovered that there was to be a talk on Native Australian Bees today at the Volunteer centre at the Belair National Park (thought of you, Nevermore - you would have loved it).
Of course, we attended, met some really nice people, and heard an excellent talk on our beautiful bees. So enjoyable and judging by the applause afterwards the speaker certainly engaged with people who knew next to nothing about them, as well as the bee tragics like myself.
Afternoon tea was provided - just so nice. So of course we are going to join the Friends of the National Park and get more involved in the Park's welfare. Apart from anything else, you get to go into areas that are off track, and therefore will be able to see plants and birds and other life that are not normally seen by your average Park visitor.
We also visited an old Railway dam, that was used in the days of the steam trains, and I saw this. I know it's already listed in BlipBigYear, but I don't think I've photographed it before. White faced heron (Egretta novaehollandiae).
Better Reflections
And --- just check out the Rower's blip. One cool shot.
