Duntroon to Oamaru via Enfield
It was grey and overcast when I awoke today, but the sun soon appeared and was shining brightly when we set off.
Two very good things happened today - we met up with a blip friend in Enfield and we finished the Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail. Who could ask for a better day. Blip friend Mima brought homemade raspberry muffins and blackcurrant cordial to refresh us on our journey and the gift of raspberries to take with us. What a lovely lady. It was so special to meet her.
The main blip shows blip friend Mima, and her dog Bean, with hubby (who’s grimacing because his lips are cracked from sunburn), the two of us at the finish, and the signboard at the finish.
The extra shows statues of a pioneer couple in Duntroon who represent the hardy men and women who settled the district in the 1800s, elephant rocks, hay being harvested, and the changing landscape compared to earlier in our trip.
There are 29 new community cases today. They are in Auckland (11), Northland (2), Western Bay of Plenty (1), Rotorua (14) and Wellington (1)
