Finally arrived?

What a wonderful day - has spring finally arrived? The irony is that I spent the morning at a Bucks Invertebrate Group (BIG) meeting indoors! Yes, I am a BIG member!! I then fitted in a short walk before my hospital visit and, gloriously, the verges and hedge banks were transformed. Not only had this wonderful clump of Celendines burst into flower overnight; it had at least two species of hoverflies making the most of the brilliant flowers. I think this one is probably Megasyrphus annulipes. Surely this next week will bring further improvements and the we frustrated naturalists will be just overwhelmed with pent-up blossoming, hatching and buzzing.
