Wound up in Wexford

Pandemic litter

There were several of these disposable masks hanging around in Moore Abbey woods near Monasterevin.

We had driven up to Monasterevin to view a house.  It was at the top end of our budget, and all a bit excessive.  As an example of excess was the number of playthings available to the kids of the house.  The rooms were filled with toys, the vendors had built a large play house (see extras) on the outside of the VERY large (some 5 by 15 metres!) shed in the garden, which in turn was filled with more bikes and outdoor toys.

After visiting the house, we found somewhere to get some lunch, and then stopped to take a short walk around Moore Abbey woods.  The town has an association with Gerard Manly Hopkins, with Nano Nagle, and with John McCormack so there were a number plaques with interesting poems and quotes around the wood which resulted in me looking up these people and learning some history.

The poem on the plaque in extras particularly "spoke" to me - which I confess is not common with poetry.
