Diary of an Edinburgher

Posh tea!

Another fabulous sunny day, though I did not venture out. JR made up for that - 20,459 steps! That’s walking to and from the gym in the morning and then taking Archie out round the Park in the afternoon. Amazing.(Extra)

I had a good excuse not to go out - I was expecting a delivery (between 8am and 7pm), though I did get a text mid morning narrowing the time down to a couple of hours.

The delivery was the box of meals-to-make at home. How very exciting! I was amazed at how everything needed was packaged and bagged, all I had to supply was a splash of olive oil, a knob of butter and a teaspoon of sugar.

I could not wait to get started, and so I started fiddling around in the kitchen at 5pm. I made ‘Oven Baked Spicy King Prawn Arrabbiata Farfalle.’ And it was DELICIOUS. Plenty of it too - could have fed three people. Archie was licking his chops too.

BTW, I completely withdraw my recommendation for ‘After Life’. The series was promising, with enough gentle humour and kindnesses to compensate for the theme of mourning for his dead wife every five minutes, which became rather tedious. But there was always a very unpleasant bit eg his ‘therapist’. But last night (Series 2, Episode 5) the whole town was at an am-dram ‘Review Show’ which was just vulgar, offensive, and totally inappropriate. Series 3, the final one, has had rave reviews, but I won’t be watching it.
