Scotch Bonnet

When the Minx was down in London recently, she bought me this: a tub of Scotch Bonnet chilli powder from Borough Market.

Tonight, when I made us a chilli, was the first opportunity I've had to use it. I am usually fairly liberal with herbs and spices, but I decided to only use half a teaspoonful of the Scotch Bonnet powder, just until I get its measure.

As we sat down to eat, I was suddenly nervous that we'd end up with a very bland meal but I needn't have worried, it really did the job!
