Scopas lamp

Another museum day. This time off to Dundee to visit for the first time (inside) the V&A. So many, by now, iconic exterior photos to choose from. Indeed the new whale structure outside is also worthy of a blip. And the interior is impressive too.

It is a very interesting space with a great entrance hall with glimpses of the exterior. The exhibitions - one about recycling - were very interesting. The cafe has a magnificent view - even on a grey day - looking up the Tay.

There was no specific exhibition to see but I really enjoyed the eclectic displays of design which form the regular displays. From the Charles Rennie Mackintosh oak room, to the furniture from Philadelphia by the Scottish craftsman Thomas Affleck, to the design of Christopher Kane’s Lovers’ Lace dress.

I really enjoyed the vibrancy and fun of Listening to Joy by Yinka Ilori - see extra.

However for sheer style and an image for a blip I liked the Scopas lamp, specifically designed around the LED nature of the lighting.

To round off the trip we visited my relatives who each have retired within the past 24 hours. Great to catch up and mark the next phase of their life. Home by19:30 to put our feet up.
