We got the band back together

There have been numerous hurdles to re-starting our John Muir Award this week: school staff with Covid, parental letters not going out, my car dying and Becci being ill. However, we made it to the start line this morning with ten eager year 8s. We had a wonderful time up Pontesbury Hill using our senses to discover the world around us, including picking some nettles to taste some nettle tea. Becci, who left SYFC last summer to become a foster mum, is back as a volunteer to lead the JMA and it was so good to be back together and remember how brilliant she is.

I spent some time in school after that trying to figure out a way to get to Oxford but decided that it was just too faffy and / or expensive. No wonder people don’t travel by train more often.

Some fun lunch clubs to end the week with the usual hilarity of teenagers.
