St Andrews
Well St Andrews is a strange but lovely place, part Oxford, part Whitby, part Edinburgh. Pretty busy even for a Sunday in January - especially with surfers, paddleboarders and wild swimmers. It has a real small town feel, but with a lot of history, students from all over the world, tourist trap shops and K-Pop restaurants. And around three beaches. I think we'll be back, even if just for the super tasty Thai street food we had for lunch.
Not so keen on all the golf though and not sure what all the hype is about the Swilken bridge...
Tons of birds too, a couple of herons nesting on the cliffs were a highlight, plus redshanks, sanderlings, stonechat, some ducks we couldn't identify and the usual curlews, oyster catchers etc.
