Spark Evans Park Bridge (number 12)

There are 45 bridges in Bristol - and a book has been published which shows photos and retells the story of each one - but the book also tackles the mathematical problem of devising a walk where you cross each one only once - apparently the mathematics of complex networks is an important branch of the subject today. The walk is actually over 45 kilometres - and what I propose instead is to blip all 45 this year at the rate of about 1 a week.
The bridge is a footbridge only - it’s a steel suspension bridge - and it bounces a bit when you walk over it. It was built in 1933 - as  part of a Bristol city council unemployment relief programme. It  takes you over the tidal river Avon from the Bath Road and the Paintworks development - which I have shown before - to Sparke Evans Park ( a small but lovely rectangular park of mainly grass, and beautiful trees) and also to the Avonmeads retail park, which features the Showcase cinema, which I have also shown before.
Today was sunny part of the time, and I managed to catch it. I liked this dog who seemed to be taking himself for a walk, though eventually his human caught up. The extra shows the span of the whole bridge from the south side (‘my side’). I crossed it hundreds of times in lockdown as it was part of my circular daily walk along the river and then back up through Arnos Vale  cemetery.
