Flower and Wind Machine
It has to be done. The lambs tail catkins have been out since early December, so it’s about time I recorded some in a blip, with a solitary flower.
Whilst there are plenty of male catkins, the female flowers are harder to find. There are many fewer of them, they may not be there for long, and they are tiny bordering on almost invisible. The numerous catkins must produce a huge amount of pollen, to be distributed by the wind. Somehow the little flowers must receive the pollen, and if the conditions are right hazel nuts are the result.
In other news, wondering what all the fuss about Wordle is about, I’ve had a go for the first time. It’s clever - simple, but fun. And J has had her fourth jab, which is good.
