Exploring

Headed south for a walk today rather than north to the big hills. The weather forecast changed from Ok to dreich - but we felt committed to our plan so carried on. Wind and mizzle - a good day to test new kit. Coat and trousers did well - cozy, dry and wind proof. Boots may need a review - ended up with rubbed heels and sore toes - possibly not laced tight enough.
Found ourselves in a new area to explore near Stobo - driven passed it many times en route to England. This is Merlin land - where he was assassinated and buried. From a quick Google it’s seems this Merlin was real - and possibly the inspiration of the Merlin andKing Arthur legend. Nice area - would be even better on a sunny day!
