Seaton Delaval and Thomas

I just managed to get some baking done to take to the Whitley Bay family when the electricity went off. Yes again. Only a week since the last time. Apparently the village came on after 3 hours but our road was still off. We got a camping gaz refill canister at the hardware shop on the way out of the village so that we’ll have light if needed. £30.

We went to Seaton Delaval for the boys to get a run round but were kicked out at 3 so went to the beach. The boys rolled down the dunes and messed about while #2 daughter battled into the wind with us for a walk on the beach. The wind coming from the west was whipping up the spume. We got back to the car just as the rain came on. At the house James and I played with his Marvel figures then he had us all laughing by saying “we’re in lockdown but I’m Boris Johnson so let’s party” and then making disco music sounds.

Phil, Thomas and I watched the Scotland /England match. Phew that was exhausting and stressful. And upsetting for my English grandson. “Why don’t you and Daddy. ever want England to win?” Because he’s Irish and I’m Scottish Thomas! “But Mum is English and she supports Scotland too”. She was brought up in a Scottish household so it probably never occurred to her.
