Sunny Suffolk

We drove to Felixstowe for an amble to the Deben estuary and round by Felixstowe Ferry to the sea. The tide was high and the shore had already changed shape from our last visit, owing to longshore drift. We sat on the sea wall in the sun and had a sandwich near the crumbling Martello tower. It is surrounded by the golf course.

On our return Carole and I walked through Christchurch park to the mansion to see an art exhibition. It included a few impressionists as well as some Constable and a Gainsborough and some modern work.

Tonight Gill is coming round to help us eat up what Carole says is far too much food - she’s made macaroni cheese with leeks in it and mushroom stroganoff.

Oh it looks like Nathaniel’s audition was not a success - his teacher asked if he could sound less posh! His aunt (#2 daughter) said if anyone said that to her she’d go into full West Country mode - she went to Uni in Bristol.
