Today's the day ....................... when the light lingered

It took all day for the rain to stop, but when it did I was desperate to get out and breathe in a bit of fresh air.

This is the estuary of the River Dee as it meanders its way out into the Solway Firth.  It was low tide so most of it was mudflats, much loved by a variety of birds.  But the best thing was that when I took this picture, it was after five oclock - which means that the days are getting noticeably longer.

The clocks will be going forward before we know what's happening .................!
