Appropriate for today!

Today I went to meet a friend in Wimbledon. I had not been to the ‘Centre Court’ shopping centre for two years pre-COVID. It is very different now and rather sad with so many empty shops including a big Debenhams that I often used to visit. Apparently the centre  has been bought by a new company and will be redeveloped…with promises of a retractable roof and a climbing wall among other things?!

We walked up to the Common and round Cannizzaro gardens which had masses of crocuses blooming. It was very cold and lots of rain so the umbrellas hanging in the shopping centre are very appropriate for today….however am not sure why they are there?

Wimbledon Village was in contrast quite busy with few empty shops. So  many restaurants and coffee shops there which looked as if they were doing well. We had lunch at Megan’s as my friend had brought her dog.
