Snow Moon
Today's the day ......................... for the lull between the storms
There's a lot of weather out there just now - and apparently the worst is yet to come.
Today though at least, we had quite a pleasant day round here - a chilly blustery wind but sunshine too. The skies were clear enough to see the February Full Moon, often known as the Snow Moon. I think it's just called that in the Northern Hemisphere where you're most likely to have snow in February?
The early evening news was headlined with all the precautions that are presently being taken to prepare for Storm Eunice which follows close behind Dudley. A rare red weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for some parts of the UK including Devon, Cornwall and Somerset, as well as the south coast of Wales - from Friday morning. It's the highest alert, meaning a high impact is very likely because of the combination of high tides, strong winds and storm surge.
Not a time to venture out if you can possibly help it ................
