Dee Estuary

Today's the day ...................... to be high and dry

The tide was well and truly out when I went down to Kirkcudbright Marina this afternoon - and the River Dee was reduced to a narrow channel, winding its way out through the mud of the bay towards the Solway Firth.

When these boats put down their anchors and were moored to the floating buoys, they would have been in several feet of water.  Those on board would have been able to make their way ashore without any difficulty.  It would be a different story now I imagine - with all that slippery mud to contend with.

But at least they're safe and sound - even if they are high and dry ................
