First Cactus Flower Of The Spring
It's delicate and will wilt and be gone tomorrow. It's the first cactus flower of the year and is on my beavertail prickly pear cactus
This particular beavertail is pretty unique. It was planted as one pad but in a shady spot during much of the year. It really needs direct sunlight. So much of the year it lies flat on the ground.
But when Spring rolls along, the angle of the sun changes and the cactus perks up. Most of it stands straight and tall. This year it has more buds on it than ever before.
I'm preparing for a bursting open of cactus buds soon. They are my babies.
