Tremella
Made a start on clearing up the garden debris after the storms. One piece of the oak tree that came down had this lovely example of the Yellow Brain fungus (Tremella mesenterica) on it. Yellow Brain is a parasitic jelly fungus that feeds on other wood-rotting fungi. In this case the branch also had a crust fungus (possibly the Rosy Crust, Peniophora incarnata) which may be what the Yellow Brain was attacking. I've kept the branch so that I can photograph, and hopefully identify, the crust tomorrow.
