When I first went to work in Germany George repeatedly told me that I should take time to enjoy the unwelt; to take time to see the places I was visiting for work rather than just rushing to a site and then out again. To my enduring shame I still don't heed that advice often enough but today I made an exception.
After a smashing day with colleagues in the Cambridge office I detoured on my way out to the motorway to grab some shots of Kings College. And there is even someone punting on the river if you look closely enough. The chapel took over a hundred years to build - something about the Wars of the Roses getting in the way - and was finished in 1547. I've found no mention of how many skips they used or whether it was originally artexed.
The M25 wasn't as bad as the traffic news warned so I got home in a couple of hours and I think I'm heading for a sofa snoozle. Stand on tippy-toes and you can see the weekend from here so that's got to be good innit?
