Dawyck

After lunch we visit Dawyck. We used to come here a lot as a family and now I remember why. There’s lots of paths, streams, trees, interesting bridges and random steps.

There weather is alternately gorgeous and damp. We’re warned on entry that they will close the garden of the wind gets too strong. We’re to listen out for staff shouting for us to leave. It doesn’t happen and we get to do a pretty complete tour AND enjoy a snack in the cafe afterwards. I even get to buy a souvenir pair of walking socks :)

A few years ago they rebuilt the generator house and installed a turbine. They now generate enough electricity to run the place. And they have a couple of free charge points for EVs.
