Has Spring Sprung?

If I weren’t an old cynic I would say that today was the first day of spring; the sun shone, the skies a cloudless blue and the Meadows’ crocuses were wide open to the sun. However I am a cynic and spring is not a given on one day’s warm sunshine.
Still it was spring for today and it brought out the masses from their winter bunkers. Because the grass is waterlogged not only were all the park benches occupied , the walls and trees provided places on which to sit to enjoy the sun’s rays.
