Controversy! Moot points!

Knowing there was a Q&A afterwards we thought we’d be safe sitting in row five. Oh well. The film, previously screened by BBC Scotland, Scotland, Slavery & Statues was pretty decent but the Q&A afterwards dragged on and on - an hour and a bloody half - and they hardly took a question, just rabbited amongst themselves. Seriously, if that had been an all white panel discussing say, a film about the Arctic, I’d have been off. As it was, I felt I better stay rather than be taken as someone who could be aligning himself with racists and slave-owners. For Sir Geoffrey Palmer takes no prisoners, don’t you know. I’ll say this though, Sir Tom Devine (absent from proceedings) is probably a somewhat better historian. Discuss!
