Wet and Windy - Must be March
I started the last load of laundry way too late last night. It was midnight before we got to bed. That meant we got up later than planned today. These daffodils greeted me when I opened the garage door - our first ones to bloom. Hopefully, we will have more to enjoy when we get back. Hubby found four large ripe bananas in the back of the 4Runner and not being one to waste, I used three to whip up loaves of banana bread this morning to share with the TN and MD children. We ate the last one, which was delicious, at breakfast. Still not sure when/where we bought them or how they got to that spot in the car. We finally got on the road at 10:30 after dropping off Parker’s birthday card/loaf. Our entire area was under a wind advisory. The drive across the Potomac River was not as bad as I feared but the wind tried to steer the vehicle much of the trip. We found “cheap” ($.30/gallon cheaper than at home) gas in Virginia. Lunch was a delicious southwest salad from Chick Fil-A. We had very light rain until about an hour from our hotel and then the heavens opened. At least hubby had dry driving weather during most of the trip. We saw only one accident; a tractor trailer Jack knifed on the northbound side our exit. We are hoping for pizza delivery if this heavy rain doesn’t let up. Thanks for all your visits, stars and comments on yesterday’s journal. Stay safe folks. Remember all those innocent people who need our prayers and support. “Daffodils, that come before the swallow dares, and take the winds of March with beauty.” – William Shakespeare
