Sunday: Home Cooked Meal
Today’s exciting news is that we are now connected to the outside world, via internet. Hurrah!
We don’t have a car here, nor will we have one, so today we headed off again with rucksacks and a shopping bag. We’re stocking up, slowly and surely.
Wildwood asked whether we were suitably equipped with warm parkas, cold weather clothing etc. Our air freight should arrive tomorrow, and we’ll have some warmer gear then, but it’s probably not entirely suitable. We’re not planning to purchase anything as (annoying teaser alert) our move later in the year means we shouldn’t need cold weather clothing for some years.
But, most excitingly, we had our first home-cooked meal in over three weeks. It was lovely - K is such a good cook. We’re totally done with eating out, takeaways and making do.
I couldn’t help a snowy extra from the end of our street. Two things we’ve noticed: i) it’s much more bilingual here and ii) we’ve brought with us the the British Columbia habit of saying hello to everyone we pass on the street. So far, no-one has responded…..
