Glowing Glass

Our son is a glass artist, so today we took D & D to visit two workshops that are located next to each other but produce entirely different types of glass art.

These jugs are made using the blown glass technique. They are a classy way to store mezcal, which is a popular locally made liquor. The artists were preparing for an "opening" exhibit that will be held on Thursday in the gallery that is in the building where we live, so their most recent works of art were wrapped for transport.

An interesting thing in this workshop is that they are designing and hand building furnaces that will burn used vegetable oil from restaurants.

The other glass shop (Gorilla Glass) belongs to the man who owns the gallery. They produce all hand made body jewelry using the torch method. I have previously blipped some of his work.

Glass art is not common in Mexico.
