Apple tree and shadow
We bought a new apple tree during our trip to the nursery yesterday.
We planned on buying one of those espalier shaped trees that we had seen at Oxburgh Hall but the nursery had very limited stocks, only nectarines or apricots I think. Whilst we were discussing this one of the gardeners came up and told us its easy to DIY espaliers, and cheaper. He then went through their entire stock of apple trees, several hundred, finding those with the best shape and explaining the training needed. He was really very good and helpful and clearly loved his job.
So I now have this (untrained) tree ready to bend to my will. Possibly future blips.
Whilst getting ready to plant the tree I noticed the shadow and thought it would make a blip for the day. It is just unfortunate the fence makes a bigger and darker shadow.
