Brimstone butterflies

We saw two Brimstone butterflies on our walk yesterday. We used these two well thumbed books to identify them. They are seen at this time of the year but not in particularly large numbers.

The spring equinox began today. A welcome natural milestone in the rhythm of life. So much else about our world is far from certain as events in Ukraine continue to deteriorate.

We spent the morning sorting some of our belongings in the garage. Putting our possessions into better order and finding a missing item paled into insignificance as we thought about Ukrainian lives and possessions now lost for ever.

The F1 Grand Prix was a welcome distraction from the war this afternoon followed by a lovely roast dinner with our local family.
