River Tees
I've lived in Kirkby Lonsdale for thirty years now, and, as you can imagine, I've got to know quite a lot of people, and I would call many of them friends. But in all that time, there has only been a small handful that I've regularly socialised with.
One of those few, Chris, moved away a couple of years ago, relocating up to the north-east, thereby drastically reducing my current total of local drinking buddies down to, well, one. And what with lockdowns and everything else, I've barely seen him since (unless you count FaceTime, which I don't, really). I've sorely missed him.
Today, though, we met up in Romaldkirk for a circular walk along the banks of the River Tees. It was so lovely to see him again after all this time, and we chatted away just like we always have, both on the walk, which was about six miles, and over lunch at The Rose & Crown (would recommend).
I took this shot from a little observation point, just off the path, which I meant to remember the name of. But didn't :-/
