Joe Tree Day
Here is my contribution to Joe Tree Day. It's a small tree on Hadrian's Wall trail, west of Greenhead.
We had a lovely walk there today, in glorious weather. Summer trousers and tee-shirts were the order of the morning; it was a bit cooler after lunch. The route included a section that most of us had not walked before. Twenty seven of us did the walk. There were a lot of stiles, so progress at times was slow.
My extra is the small herd of young cows who made friends with us on the outward journey, but who set up passport control on the return!!
We saw a few very tiny, very new, lambs today too.
Like many others, I want to say thank you to Joe for imagining and creating Blipfoto. Where would we be without it?
PS Lots of helicopter activity at nearby Spadeadam, the RAF training base used by many different countries. I wonder what the significance is and hope it is not an escalation of the warfare.
