Warmth
It’s been a lovely week. I wish I’d been able to enjoy more time outside and in the garden, away from the laptop. I did have lovely dog walks though and feel more in tune with nature than ever. We see deer most mornings, there’s often a heron perched somewhere on our route, or swooping to land on one of the ponds. The birdsong is amazing. I haven’t seen them, but judging by the amount of fox poo Juno tries to roll in each morning there are quite a few of them around too.
Today a colleague sent me a leaflet in Ukrainian and English encouraging women to take the opportunity of becoming refugees to get into sex work in Germany. It’s from a bone fide organisation that supports sex workers. It’s absolutely vile that this is being given out to women at a moment of incredible vulnerability. Support existing sex workers, yes, and hopefully help those trapped in exploitative situations to get out of them. But to actively encourage traumatised women to become sex workers is totally unacceptable. Action will be taken.
