Record-breaking Spring day
Last day at the conference and another early start. We had to be in a taxi by 7.20 for an 8 am opening for the exhibition. As yesterday, there were few actual delegates around that early and it was hard hanging around waiting to find people to talk to for the first couple of hours. All the exhibitors were keen to get rid of all their freebies - we only had one of our bags left by the time the exhibition closed.
As soon as 12 struck, the sound of stand dismantling and boxes being fastened up with parcel tape began. Huge constructions came down in minutes and the conference organisers had people ripping up carpet and moving stuff around with forklift trucks really quickly. Our stand went back into the trunk really easily and we had everything parcelled up within an hour.
Stayed for some lunch in the conference centre and then headed out into the heat to wait for my shuttle bus to the airport. Luckily, the street was in the shade as it was set to reach 30 degrees and break spring records for the city. Enjoyed a bit of people watching on this corner while waiting for the bus. Lots of delegates heading home with their poster tubes and bags.
Pleased to make it to the air-conditioned airport in plenty of time and to be able to sit, post-security, and read before boarding.
