New Blooms
Hubby was up at 6:15 to gather his KofC crew who cleans a two-mile stretch of road that is heavily used. The state road folks had already picked up the worst of the discarded items to make it easier to cut the roadside grass this summer. Six folks helped him so it only took them 1.5 hours. Momma and I met him on our way to Parker’s first lacrosse game of the season. It was cold and windy so we wrapped Momma in two coats, two blankets, a warm hat and gloves. Our team lost but Parker had a good game, made two of our four goals. I noticed my tulips are blooming so I grabbed a shot before they start to wilt or get damaged by the wind. Tulip bulbs have short lives in our area. You are lucky to get three springs of blooms. Daffodils multiply profusely and last forever. We had another phone lesson and Momma was able to make calls and send text messages. My cousin who lives next door has promised to help her also. Barb is a true jewel. Our only disappointment is that the huge collection of cables and wall plugs we had with the old phones no longer work. Replacing them is quite an investment. While I worked on laundry, hubby took my mother home. She’s having company for dinner tomorrow so she won’t be attending Brookie or Parker’s games. We took Parker and his friend to 5:00 Mass. The evening is for resting our knees. Our DIL is sending us dinner, a welcome act of kindness. Thanks for stopping by and leaving such nice stars and comments. “The fragrance of flowers spreads only in the direction of the wind. But the goodness of a person spreads in all directions.” – Chanakya
