Recognizing Our Teacher Of the Year
Hubby had a KofC event this morning so he wasn’t able to attend Brooklyn’s soccer game. She played offense for a bit but her coach is being very protective of that wrist. Her team won 2-1. We went to lunch after the game. Kim was named Teacher of the Year at her school and it’s been impossible to celebrate the honor. I treated them to the lunch of her choice to show my congratulations. She likes Chipotle because the portions can be divided into three meals, two for next week’s lunches. The kids and I really like the food as well. I shopped for a few grocery items and went home to rest the old legs-we stood on uneven ground during the entire game. Hubby got home in time to join me at the “showcase” event for the eighth grader basketball players. Jamie coached one of the teams. He and another coach alternated selecting members of their team from eighth grade ball players in the entire Catholic League. His team won by many points. He has been asked to continue coaching; we will see what happens. Our weekend was spent at one game or another rather than working in my unkempt gardens. But we have all week to do that. My “babies” are growing up too fast to miss watching them. Dinner is made so we can take it easy now. Thanks for the visit. Sure hope your weekend was a fun one. I am livid to hear about the atrocities in Ukraine. How can people be so barbaric? Pray, this has to end. “When in doubt, choose the kids. There will be plenty of time later to choose work.” - Anna Quindlen
