The Cattle King ......

A cold but bright start.
Littlemiss had a school pal out to help with the lambing,so ran them next door when I was feeding the cows and left them for Ian to babysit !
The sprayer contractor turned up to spray the first dose of liquid N fertiliser on the winter barley down the road. The forecast is for rain later on so hopefully it won't scorch the leaves. If it's windy or turns frosty it can burn them .
The farmer that bought some heifers turned up to collect half of them this afternoon. They weren't bad to load so soon had him heading home for Duns. Hopefully he will get the rest later in the week.
By tea time tonight the rain had started and it was bitterly cold again. Hope nothing decides to calve in the field tonight.
